Testimonials from Emily's clients: More to come soon!
"My horses and I have made dramatic progress since Emily has been
working with us. Emily has an easygoing way about her, and approaches
lessons with a sense of good humor, yet she is also a serious and
successful competitor. It is unusual to find a trainer who combines
these traits. I find I do not have to compromise, making the
difficult choice between a trainer who can help me to show and a
trainer who can help me to enjoy my horse, because Emily offers both.
She listens deeply to me as a student, and helps me to think through
problems. I can speak freely to her about my experience, explaining in
my own words, however inadequate, what has happened with me and my
horse since our last lesson, and she finds a way to reflect that back
to me, and build a lesson around it. Because of this I find that I am
growing in confidence to understand what I am doing and what I need to
do, to help my horses to do their best.
Emily
has an excellent eye for movement, and a very good understanding of
biomechanics, both human and equine. Added to that is her extensive
"inner catalog" of exercises to improve rider and horse. If you want
to see for yourself, you need only watch her ride and observe how
freely and athletically horses move when she rides them. They do not
look forced to excessive movement, and neither do they look constrained
and held back. Rather, they look like horses who are moving properly
for their current level of training. It is fun to watch." --Rebecca O.
"I have been riding with Emily Sorensen for 1 year and couldn't
have found a better instructor! Emily has an a special gift for
teaching and I have discovered a whole new world in dressage with her
after 5 years of hunter/jumper training. She uses metaphors that even
the most inexperienced riders can comprehend. Oh, and she is a
beautiful rider herself. She has two lovely horses she has trained
from day one to FEI levels." --Michelle W.
